Getting Started

How do I sign up?

Download the Cholo Sathi app, enter your mobile number, and verify it with the OTP sent via SMS. You can also sign up with your Google account — no phone number required initially.

I didn't receive my OTP. What should I do?

Wait 60 seconds and tap Resend OTP. Make sure you have mobile signal. If the problem continues, contact us at support@cholosathi.com.

Finding a Ride

How do I search for a ride?

From the home screen, tap Search routes. Enter your pickup point, destination, and travel date. The app shows driver-listed routes whose path covers your journey corridor.

What is the difference between Routes and Pools?
  • Routes — a driver's single one-way trip at a fixed time. You book a seat and travel with the driver.
  • Pools — a driver accepting multiple passengers with a flexible departure window. Good when you're flexible on timing.
No results are showing for my route. What can I do?

If no drivers have listed a route for your corridor yet, post a trip request instead. Drivers who run that corridor will see your request and may contact you directly.

How do I filter by vehicle type?

On the search results screen, use the filter option to select a vehicle category (passenger car, auto, goods vehicle, etc.).

Posting a Trip Request

What is a trip request?

A trip request lets you tell drivers where you need to go and when. Drivers whose routes match your corridor can see your request and contact you via WhatsApp or phone to offer their service.

How do I post a trip request?

Tap Post trip on the home screen. Enter your pickup location, destination, travel date and time, and the number of passengers. Your request will be visible to matching drivers for 24 hours or until you close it.

How long does a trip request stay active?

Trip requests are active for 24 hours after your requested travel time, or until you manually close them from the Posts tab. After expiry they are archived but not deleted.

Can I edit or delete a trip request?

You can close an active trip request from the Posts tab, which removes it from driver search results. Editing is not currently supported — close the old one and post a new one with the updated details.

Contacting a Driver

How do I contact a driver?

Tap a driver's listing to open their profile, then tap WhatsApp or Call. All trip details — price, pickup point, timing — are negotiated directly with the driver. Cholo Sathi is a marketplace; we don't manage the booking itself.

Where can I see drivers I've contacted before?

The Contacts tab keeps a local record of every driver you've WhatsApp-tapped or called. This is stored on your device — clearing the app data will remove it.

Is my phone number shared with the driver?

Your phone number is only shared when you initiate contact (WhatsApp or Call tap). The driver cannot see your number from the trip request alone.

Reviews

How do I leave a review for a driver?

Open the driver's profile (from your Contacts history or search results) and scroll to the reviews section. Tap Write a review, select a star rating (1–5), and optionally add a comment. You can edit your review at any time.

Can I delete my review?

You can edit your review anytime. If you want it fully removed, contact us at support@cholosathi.com.

Account & Safety

How do I delete my account?

Go to Profile → Delete my account or visit our Account Deletion page for full instructions. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

How do I report a safety concern about a driver?

Email us immediately at support@cholosathi.com with the driver's name, vehicle number, and details of the incident. For emergencies, contact local authorities first.
